Who Does the Work
We work out of 1755 Sherwin Ct, right here in Waterford, and we only cover this part of Oakland County - not a call center routing jobs across the state. That matters because the doors we see every week aren't generic. Most homes in this area went up between 1949 and 1993, with the bulk of the stock dating to the 1960s and 70s, spread across more than thirty named neighborhoods and subdivisions. That means a lot of original torsion setups, steel panel doors from a few manufacturing eras ago, and openers that have been swapped out once or twice since the house was built.
We don't claim decades of history or a roster of certifications here - we're not going to put a number on the page that we can't back up. What we can tell you is what we work on: springs, cables, rollers, tracks, openers, and panels, on the kind of doors that show up in a region built mostly before 1990. If your house falls into that window, which most do around here, we've likely seen your exact setup before, more than once.
Work We Turn Down
We don't do new home builds or large commercial overhead door installs - that's a different scale of equipment and a different crew than what we run. If a door is beyond economical repair - rusted-through track on a panel door that's cracked in three places, or a frame that's shifted enough that nothing will seat right - we'll tell you that straight instead of patching something that'll fail again in a season.
Winters here sit in the cold-severe band, and that's relevant: a torsion spring that's already fatigued and then gets hit with a hard freeze-thaw cycle is a spring that's going to snap, not one worth babying along. In those cases we'll talk replacement instead of repair, because a repair that doesn't hold through the cold isn't a repair, it's a delay. We also won't quote work sight unseen over the phone when the issue sounds like it could be a bent track or a door that's come off one of its hinges - that needs eyes on it first.
How to Reach Us
Call (248) 793-5206 to reach us directly
We're based at 1755 Sherwin Ct, Waterford, MI 48327, and that's also where you can find us if you need to drop something off or talk through a job in person rather than over the phone.
We cover Waterford itself and the surrounding area
Which puts towns like the Village of Clarkston, Keego Harbor, and Pontiac within a short drive, and Orchard Lake Village, Auburn Hills, and Wolverine Lake not far past that. If you're further out - Lake Orion, Walled Lake, Bloomfield Hills, Milford, or similar distance - give us a call and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a trip we can make the same day or whether it needs scheduling ahead.
The Work We Take On
Broken torsion and extension springs, snapped cables, bent or dented panels, rollers that have worn down to the point the door shudders on the way up - that's the bulk of what we do. A good share of it traces back to the age of the stock here: doors installed when a house was built in the 1960s or 70s are well past the point where springs cycle out on their own, cold winters or not.
Opener repair and replacement is the other steady piece of the work - logic boards that give out, gears that strip inside the unit, remotes that stop syncing. We'll also true up a track that's pulled away from the frame, which happens more than people expect on older garages where the structure itself has settled a little over the decades.
We don't try to be everything. If a job calls for structural carpentry on the garage itself, or electrical work beyond the opener circuit, that's outside what we take on, and we'll say so up front rather than stretch into it.
